Freshman forward Noah Dickerson scored 15 points and grabbed eight rebounds while helping Washington hold off UCLA 86-84 Thursday night at Pauley Pavilion in Los Angeles.

Senior guard Andrew Andrews had 12 points and eight assists for Washington, which led by 19 late in the first half. Freshman forward Marquese Chriss also scored 12 points.

Junior guard Bryce Alford scored 28 points for UCLA, including 17 in the final 6:11. Junior guard Isaac Hamilton added 17 points, and senior forward Tony Parker had 16 points and nine rebounds.

UCLA (12-9, 3-5 Pac-12) trailed 11-9 with just over 12 minutes to play in the opening period. Washington (14-6, 6-2) mounted 11-0 and 9-0 runs to take a 31-13 lead and carried a 51-33 advantage into the break.

The Bruins started the second half with an 8-2 run to cut the deficit to 12. UCLA cut Washington's lead to 74-73 on a three-point play by Alford, tied the game on a layup by Alford and took an 82-79 lead on a 3-pointer by Alford with 2:04 remaining.

Sophomore forward Donaven Dorsey answered with a 3-pointer for Washington to tie the game, and Andrews made two free throws with three seconds left to win it.
