LSU 84, Auburn 61: Jarell Martin recorded 25 points, 12 rebounds and two steals as visiting LSU pulled away from Auburn in the second half of the SEC contest.

Jalyn Patterson contributed career highs of 16 points, seven assists and four 3-pointers for LSU (20-8, 9-6 SEC), which shot a season-best 57.8 percent from the field. Jordan Mickey had 14 points and three blocks while Keith Hornsby scored 13 as LSU won for the fifth time in its last seven road games.

Cinmeon Bowers led the way with 16 points and six rebounds for Auburn (12-16, 4-11), which has dropped six consecutive home contests. KT Harrell chipped in with 14 points while Jordon Granger and K.C. Ross-Miller each added nine for Auburn, which won 81-77 at LSU on Feb. 5.

LSU led 49-46 before Patterson, Martin and Hornsby drained consecutive 3-pointers and Martin followed with two straight three-point plays for a 64-46 lead with 12:34 to go. Patterson ignited another 7-0 burst with a 3-pointer to extend the advantage to 77-55 with a little more than seven minutes left and LSU cruised from there.

Martin scored 12 points in the first half, including a dunk that gave LSU a 10-point cushion before it settled for a 41-34 edge at intermission. LSU shot 54.3 percent from the field and forced nine turnovers, but Bowers kept Auburn in it with 11 points in the opening 20 minutes.

GAME NOTEBOOK: The victory gave LSU its first back-to-back 20-win seasons since 2004-05 and 2005-06. … Auburn G Antoine Mason, who scored 29 his last time out against No. 1 Kentucky, was held to six points on 0-of-5 shooting from the field. … Mickey, a sophomore, reached 100 blocks for the second straight season (101) and is second all time at LSU with 207 behind Shaquille O’Neal (412).
